At the age of 17 in my final year of school I was diagnosed with Glandular Fever. Without knowing that this virus was the beginning of a cascading of events within my body and would plague my system so insidiously for the next 20 years, I carried on completing my exams and heading off to university. At university I studied Speech Pathology and later went on to gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations.
In spite of my fierce determination to live the life of a 20 something, my body never quite recovered and with a number of stressful events my system began to suffer further. My immune function was poor and I was constantly fatigued. I began to experience regular chest and throat infections as well as asthma, followed by multiple digestive disorders; irritable bowel syndrome, leaky gut, multiple food intolerances. Then my nervous system became disorganised. I displayed symptoms of multiple sclerosis; numbness and tingling down the right side of my body, dizziness, poor coordination and balance, fainting, adrenal exhaustion, confusion, foggy head, extreme fatigue, depression, nausea, sensitivities to chemicals, light and noise, hormonal imbalances, musculo-skeletal imbalances, pain, inflammation and stiffness. My body ached from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed. Everything was an effort, everything hurt and the doctors gave me no answers. As you can imagine…life was not fun.
Somewhere deep down I knew there was an answer. I always knew that life could get better and that this was not the real ‘me’. I knew that I had the capacity to be well, I just had to find the solution. There began a 10 year journey of research, study, experimentation and treatment. You name it and I’ve tried it! I studied voraciously and globally, experimented with both mainstream and the unconventional, and addressed my physical, emotional, mental and spiritual self. Finally, with the generosity of a number of beautiful beings I found the answers I was seeking.
Over the years I have gained many qualifications, and I am committed to continuing to add to my knowledge and skill set, both to optimise my health and wellbeing, and yours.
Today, I have a renewed zest, vitality, enthusiasm and stamina for life that previously I had only dreamed about. Now my mission is to combine the best of these leading-edge modalities with my knowledge, skills and first-hand experience to support you in creating the life you know you truly deserve.
As a Speech Pathologist I also have a special interest in working with children and their families. By optimising students’ physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, we can change the trajectory of their educational experience and future.
I look forward to sharing my expertise with you to recover the real ‘you’ and create a life that ignites you!
